Ticket
Policy
Children may purchase lunch
tickets on a weekly, or monthly basis, paid in advance. The lunch program
accepts checks as well as cash, but cannot accept responsibility for lost or
misplaced tickets. Please put your childŐs money or check in an envelope
clearly marked with what the child is purchasing.
If it is more convenient for you,
to have your child buy multiple tickets, it would be helpful if you would write
their name in ink on the back of each ticket, and send them with only one each
day, since young children sometimes have a tendency to lose things.
Tickets should be purchased first
thing in the morning on the first day of the week. Menus are sent home each
month so you and your child can choose which meals they want to eat.
The cost of a student lunch is
$2.10 per day Morse and Mast Landing or $2.35 per day Middle and High Schools.
Reduced meals are $.40 per day or $2.00 per week. An application for free and
reduced meals will be sent home the first day of school along with a menu.
Parents may eat with their children for $3.60 per day.
We allow children who forget
their lunch money to use an IOU for lunch. Once a child accumulates 3 unpaid
IOUs, they must call the parent to obtain permission for another unpaid lunch.
The reason for this policy is to promote ongoing communication with parents, so
they will know that the child is charging lunches
IOUŐS are not an option at the
High School.
Children are allowed to bring a
bag lunch from home and eat in the school cafeteria. Milk, juice, or water can
be purchased for $.50 a day to supplement the bag lunch. At recess, milk and
juice are both available for $.50 a day. Tickets for these beverages are
available in the same line as lunch tickets. Milk is included as a part of the
school lunch.
